9-12-02 Homework submission reminders Greetings, Your homework has started to come in, and I need to remind you of a couple of things I mentioned in previous messages. One, make sure that you send your homework to french@westenskow.net or fren105@yahoo.com for your French work and german@westenskow.net or german105@yahoo.com for your German assignments. Some of you are sending to my school address, westenskow@msun.edu , but the program through which I receive that mail is not really convenient for running a virus check before opening attachments ... and I'm not opening anything without a virus check. As a result, I have to forward your mail to my other accounts which have an extremely easy virus check process. Two, those who have sent homework so far seem to be handling the process pretty well. There doesn't seem to be a real problem with copying and pasting my assignment pages and doing your work in the spaces provided. There is a bit of a problem, however, with the way that the assignments are coming to me. Some of you are simply inserting your document into your e-mail message box. I receive it just fine, but instead of just downloading the document and editing it, I have to do a copy and paste job and create a new Word document. It's not a huge thing, but it will make by work a little easier if you can send your documents as attachments. That way I can just download the document in its original format, edit it easily, and then return it to you in the same handy format. One of the reasons I sent you the practice documents was to see if you could handle both parts of the operation: editing my web page in its original format and mailing your document as an attachment. Most of you seem to be ignoring the practice documents, so I'm not sure what problems I need to address. If you would play along with me on this, I might be able to save a whole lot of time in the future. That's it for tonight. Happy studying. Dave |
